Copyright reports

If you believe material on The Boot Ledger infringes your copyright, send a written report that includes:

• Identification of the copyrighted work, or a representative list if the report covers multiple works at one location
• Identification and location of the allegedly infringing material, with enough detail for us to find it
• Contact information for the reporting party, such as an email address or mailing address
• A statement of good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
• A statement that the report is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that the reporting party is authorized to act for the owner of the relevant exclusive right
• A physical or electronic signature

We may request additional information where reasonably necessary to identify the material or evaluate the report.

What may happen after a report

We may remove or disable access to material in response to a sufficiently supported report. Where legally and operationally appropriate, we may give the affected user a copy of the report or information from it so the user can understand and respond to the claim.

Counter-notices

If you believe your material was removed or disabled because of a mistake or misidentification, you may send a written counter-notice to the copyright contact. A counter-notice should include:

• Your physical or electronic signature
• Identification of the material removed or disabled and where it appeared before removal
• A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification
• Your name, address, and telephone number
• A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate United States federal district court and accepting service of process from the person who submitted the original report or that person’s agent

We may provide a valid counter-notice to the original reporting party and may restore material when permitted by applicable law.

Accuracy and misrepresentation

Copyright reports and counter-notices are legal communications. Knowingly making a material misrepresentation that content is infringing, or that content was removed by mistake, may create liability under applicable law. Consider obtaining legal advice if you are uncertain about your rights or whether an exception applies.
