Safety and image removal

How to request removal

Send a written request to safety@thebootledger.com. Include:

1. The identity of the person depicted and whether you are that person or are authorized to act for them
2. The exact image and its Boot Ledger URL or public contribution ID so we can locate it
3. A brief statement that you have a good-faith belief the depiction was published without the depicted person’s consent
4. An email address where we can send receipt and status updates
5. Your typed full name as an electronic signature, or another physical or electronic signature

When the existing hosted URL or contribution ID identifies the image, do not attach or resend a copy through ordinary email. Do not include unrelated intimate details or other sensitive information.

Government identification is not required by default. We will ask only for additional information that is reasonably necessary to locate the image, evaluate the request, or confirm authority.

What happens after a request

We will process valid removal requests as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after receipt. Within that period, The Boot Ledger will make reasonable efforts to identify and remove known identical copies available through the service.

Where appropriate, access may be restricted while a report is reviewed. We will use the requester’s email address for receipt, status, and disposition communications. Knowingly false reports may have legal consequences.
